What’s an Allocation?

An allocation program is not a wine club, nor is it a way to receive wines multiple times per year at a discounted rate. It is a way to gain access to extremely limited production wines that are too small for mass scale distribution. It is a way to support a small business by making a choice to buy direct. Sort of like a CSA program, but more fun, because, well…wine!

Why an Allocation?

We are truly a two person operation and as it happens, peak wine buying season typically coincides with the very busy field season when we are unable to keep up with the steady stream of orders that trickle in throughout the year. Our goal with this program is to do the leg work early and streamline access to the wines by giving you an opportunity to place your order today. The hope is that you will feel great come April when your special package arrives (and it WILL be special), and we’ll be able to spend the rest of the year buckled down in the field and cellar without feeling like we’ve let anyone down.

All of our Allocation offerings come with a hand-made gift from Elkton. We feel strongly that rising tides float all ships and so when we become the beneficiaries of your support, it only feels right to pass along that good will by commissioning work from local artists and makers in our community and sharing their talent with you.

Examples of our previous allocation gifts can be found below, and while we haven’t quite decided on our offerings for the coming year, Nathan recently decommissioned a beautiful old French oak barrel and we’ve got all the staves sitting in the basement just begging to become something…..

Here’s the deal (s):

Half Case (6 bottles):

Will always include

  • 2 bottles of our most popular White Pinot Noir

  • 3 bottles of our Pinot Noir.

  • 1 bottle something special

  • This option will run you $400 bucks* when you factor in shipping/taxes/wine/us paying the compliance company to do this above board so no one gets in trouble.

Full Case (12 bottles)

Will always include

  • 4 bottles of our most popular White Pinot Noir

  • 4 bottles of our Pinot Noir.

  • 4 bottles of some special stuff like our zero/zero sparkling wines, or any one of the extra fun 30 case lots that we produce for ourselves and our friends. If you know anyone in the wine business, they will tell you there is nothing practical or profitable about making 30 cases of anything…but it’s oh so fun and oh so rewarding.

  • This option will run you $800 bucks* when you factor in shipping/taxes/wine/us paying the compliance company to do this above board so no one gets in trouble.

    * certain handling charges and taxes only apply to wines shipping outside of Oregon.

Today, I checked the mail to find this beautiful wine allocation from Crew Work Wines. I’ve never encountered two people who work so hard while possessing such a real and care free enjoyment of life. Oh and they happen to make some of the best wines I’ve ever tasted!
